Supporting our Students
To and Through College

KIPP Through College is a comprehensive advocacy and support program for KIPP alumni that provides academic and personal support, high school and college placement, counseling, internship opportunities and career services, and social and cultural enrichment opportunities. The KIPP Through College program currently serves approximately 500 alumni at 46 independent, magnet and charter high schools in and around Metro Atlanta and 11 boarding schools throughout the country as well as our students who have matriculated to college. Services Provided

Alumni Academic Support

  • Counseling around course selection and scheduling of classes
  • Academic support through tutoring and homework assistance
  • Workshops focused on study skills and organizational skills
  • Ongoing monitoring of academic performance
  • Developing relationships with key high school personnel

Alumni Activities

  • Summer session to prepare a smooth transition from middle to high school
  • Saturday workshops, field trips, and cultural activities for alumni throughout the school year
  • Workshops for the parents covering communication, college readiness, and financial aid
  • After-school program weekdays from 3:00-6:30pm for tutoring and support

Alumni Counseling/Emotional Social Support

  • Counseling around adolescent topics (peer pressure, drugs, sex, etc.)
  • Workshops and guest speakers focused on relevant social issues
  • Forums and support groups for students to reconnect with their fellow KIPP alumni
  • Crisis intervention for students and/or families in need

Alumni College Placement Support

  • SAT preparation and tutoring services
  • Summer internships and courses
  • Assistance with college applications, scholarship competitions, and financial aid applications
  • Counseling around college selection and admissions process
  • Parent workshops about the college admissions process
  • College tours and connecting our students with other students and mentors at colleges and universities around the country
