KIPP Through College Staff

LaChia Gunter, Program Coordinator
LaChia serves as the Program Coordinator for KIPP Through College. LaChia previously worked as the Membership & Marketing Director and Director of Teen Initiatives for The Villages at Carver Family YMCA. Prior to her work in the non-profit sector, she taught Spanish on the elementary and high school levels. She holds a B.A. in Spanish from Spelman College.

Alexis Hall, High School Success Advisor
Alexis serves as the High School Success Advisor for KIPP Through College. She graduated from KIPP South Fulton Academy in May 2008. She attended Foxcroft Boarding School in Middleburg Virginia. She graduated as Vice Head of School, Recipient of the Charlotte Haxall Noland Award and Graduation Speaker. She attended St. John's University in Queens, New York and is now attending Kennesaw State University here in Georgia. She is pursuing degrees in Business Marketing and Secondary Education.

Stephen King, College Persistence Advisor
Stephen serves as the College Persistence Advisor for KIPP Through College. Stephen worked as a Graduation Coach at Atlanta Public Schools for three years, and has extensive experience working with high school and college students. He has a BA in Psychology from Morehouse College and a MSW from Clark Atlanta University.

Angie Lyons, Associate Director of KIPP Through College
Angie serves as the Associate Director of KIPP Through College. Angie previously worked as Director of Admissions at St. Lutheran Boarding School in New Hampshire for four years before joining the KIPP Family.  She worked in high school placement for four years at the KIPP MAC office, exclusively with KIPP South Fulton Academy and KIPP WAYS Academy. Angie earned a B.A. in Sociology from Georgia State University.

Ebonee Mahone-Todman, College Readiness Advisor
Ebonee serves as a College Readiness Advisor for KIPP Through College. Previously, she served as the College and Career Program Director for the C5 Georgia program here in Atlanta.  She has also worked for the Metro Atlanta YMCA as the Youth and Teen Director and has worked with many schools in the capacity of community development and/or school social worker.  Ebonee has a BA in Psychology from Spelman College and a Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis.

Antwan Mauzy, College Readiness Advisor
Antwan serves as a College Readiness Advisor for KIPP Through College. He first joined the KIPP family as a parent of a 5th grade KIPPster at KIPP South Fulton Academy.  He also started the Physical Education program at KIPP South Fulton Academy and became the Athletic Director. He has a BA from the University of Akron.

Jamila Serrette, Alumni/Internship Advisor
Jamila serves as the Alumni Advisor for KIPP Through College. Prior to joining the KIPP Through College team, she taught science at KIPP South Fulton Academy.  She has been a member of the KSFA Team and Family since 2007. Jamila previously worked as sports program coordinator in Oakland, CA and a teacher in Savannah, GA. She has also worked as a student athletic trainer at UGA and completed an internship with the Women’s Sports Foundation. Jamila obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Corey Sheffield, Director of College Advisement
Corey serves as the Director of College Advisement for KIPP Through College. Corey has been with KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools since 2005, starting as a science teacher at KIPP WAYS Academy. Corey earned a B.A. in Biology from Voorhees College, a Masters from Clark Atlanta University, a Specials degree from Argosy University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate.

Judon Streater, College Persistance Manager
Judon serves as the College Persistance Manager for KIPP Through College. She is responsible for following all KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools' alumni to ensure that they are on track to graduate from college. Judon previously served as the Office Manager at KIPP WAYS Academy, where she was a founding volunteer. She earned a B.A. in Sociology from South Carolina State University and Masters in Education specializing in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University.

Mark Stucker, High School Placement Director
Mark serves as the High School Placement Director for KIPP Through College. He works with families to develop a list of high schools that are a match for each student's passions, goals, personality and academic ability; he then works diligently to help each student get accepted at these schools. Prior to this, Mark did admissions work, multicultural work, fund raising and college counseling at the Westtown School in West Chester, PA. Mark has a BA in Psychology from Michigan State and a Masters of Theology from Dallas Seminary.

Karen Womack, College Readiness Advisor
Karen serves as a College Readiness Advisor for KIPP Through College. She was a 2009 Teach for America - Metro Atlanta corps member, where she taught at Turner Middle School and Ivy Preparatory Academy. Karen earned a B.S. in Psychology from Princeton University and a M.Ed. in Behavioral and Learning Disabilities from Georgia State University.
