Curry Andrews, Literacy Coordinator
Curry serves as the Literacy Coordinator at KIPP Vision Academy. Previously, she served as a Teach For America corps member teaching 8th-grade science in St. Louis. She was born and raised in Atlanta, and attended the University of Georgia where she earned a B.A. in Communications.
Darryl Askew, Special Education Learning Specialist
Darryl serves as a Special Education Learning Specialist at KIPP Vision Academy. He previously served as a Forensic Behavior Specialist for more than 20 years with DHR, and taught for 13 years at the Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) and Atlanta Public Schools. He has a BA in Psychology from Morehouse College and a MS in Counseling Psychology Troy State University.
Justin Bartley, Music Teacher
Justin serves as the music teacher for the KIPP Vision Campus. Previously, he served as the music teacher at Atlanta Preparatory Academy, and he has worked in the education and youth development fields. Justin has various notable musical experiences as a trombonist as well as a music producer/composer. He received his BA in Sociology from Georgia State University.
Chenneil Brown, Upper School Assistant Principal
Chenneil serves as the Upper School Assistant Principal at KIPP Vision Academy. She has served as Special Education Coordinator, District Mentor, and Community Teacher within Special Education working with students exhibiting a vast spectrum of exceptionalities from the ages of birth to college. Chenneil received her Master's of Education degree from Wilmington University and a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Business Administration.
Deranda Butler, Special Education Learning Specialist
Deranda seves as the Special Education Learning Specialist at KIPP Vision Academy. Deranda has a BA in Middle Level Education from Georgia State University.
Ayana Cofer, Dance Teacher
Ayana Cofer serves as the Dance teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. With more than 25 years of experience as a dancer, choreographer, and performer, she has grown committed to working with youth, the arts, and leadership support. Previously, she taught at Spelman College’s youth dance program, The Dancer’s Warehouse, and the Fulton County Arts Council. She has danced with various companies who have performed all over the country. She has a BA in Sociology with a focus in dance from Spelman College.
Jerrod Compton, Sixth Grade Math Teacher
Jerrod serves as the Sixth Grade Math teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Prior to working with KIPP he served as Senior Manager for the Junior Achievement Fellows program, an afterschool entrepreneurship program for high school students. He has also worked in the education sector from an international perspective when he served in the Peace Corps and taught grades K - 8 in the Republic of Palau. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science from Morehouse College and is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Mercer University.
Tasha Davis, School Leader
Tasha serves as the School Leader of KIPP Vision Academy; prior to that, she was the Lower School Dean. Previously, she served as an Academic Director at Explore Charter School in Brooklyn, New York. She served as a School Culture Coordinator for the K-8 school population and a third grade teacher. Tasha's teaching career spans more than ten years; she has taught in Colorado, California and New York. She has a BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and a MAT from Grand Canyon University.
Thaddeus Dawsey, Eighth Grade Reading/Language Arts Teacher
Thaddeus serves as the Eighth Grade Reading/Language Arts teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. He began teaching with the Huntsville City School system in Huntsville, Alabama at Butler High School where he taught history and volunteered as a reading specialist and was an assistant football coach for the football team. He later moved to Lee High School where he taught ninth grade English, eleventh grade AP English, and twelfth grade English. He eventually became assistant department chair. Thaddeus is a graduate of Alabama A&M University where he received his BA in English and history and a Master’s Degree.
Alvin Dickson, Special Projects Coordinator
Alvin serves as the Special Projects Coordinator for the KIPP Vision Campus. His previous experience includes working with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office as a Sheriff’s Technician in the Support Services Unit. He has also volunteered at the KIPP STRIVE Campus. Alvin attended Dillard University in New Orleans where he majored in Business Management.
Stanley Dumas, School Culture Coordinator
Stanley serves as the School Culture Coordinator at KIPP Vision Academy. Previously, he served as a Discipline/Behavior Teacher for Atlanta Public Schools for eight years. He also has extensive coaching experience with middle and high school baseball, basketball, and softball. Stanley is a KIPP parent with sons attending KIPP Vision Academy and KIPP Atlanta Collegiate. He studied at Atlanta Technical College.
Makala Fields, Fine Arts Teacher
Makala serves as the Fine Arts teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. She previously worked at KIPP South Fulton Academy for seven years as the sixth grade social studies teacher. Makala has worked in the field of education for more than 10 years, and with youth of all ages for more than 20 years. She has a BA in Business from the University of Rhode Island and is currently working towards her Master’s in Arts Education.
James Flagg, Building Engineer
James serves as the Building Engineer for the KIPP Vision Campus. Previously, he worked in the residential construction trade specializing in the design and construction of all forms of hardscapes, as well as major renovation projects. His knowledge of general mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC spans more than 21 years.
Tanya Flagg, Campus Business Operations Manager
Tanya serves as the Campus Business Operations Manager for KIPP Vision. She previously worked in accounting for the past many years for multiple entities serving as Accounts Payable Manager, Accounting Associate and Payroll Specialist. Tanya also has a son that currently attends boarding school at St. Andrews Sewanee in Tennessee and is a recent graduate from KIPP South Fulton Academy.
Shavonne Floyd, Fifth Grade Non-Fiction Teacher
Shavonne serves as the Fifth Grade Non-Fiction teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Throughout her career she has taught grades 5th-8th in subjects such as: English, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and girls Health and PE. Shavonne has a BA in English from Tuskegee University and a MA in Education from National University.
Leia Francis, Office Manager
Leia serves as the Office Manager for the KIPP Vision Campus. She attained her Bachelor’s Degree from Clark Atlanta University in Finance. She has extensive experience in finance and accounting. Leia also brings creativity, flair, among many other wonderful characteristics to the KIPP Vision Campus.
Carolyn Hardaway, Social Worker
Carolyn serves as the Social Worker at KIPP Vision Academy. Previously, she served as the Foster Parent Liaison for Fulton County Department of Family & Children Services (DFCS). She also worked as a Family Intervention Specialist at Youth Villages, Inc. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Clark Atlanta University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Social Policy and Practice.
Johnny Ray James II, Fifth Grade Reading/English Language Arts Teacher
Ray serves as the Fifth Grade Reading/English Language Arts teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Before joining the KIPP team, he served for two years as a fourth grade Reading and English Language Arts teacher at Clayton County Schools. He has a BA in Political Science and a MA in Higher Education Administration with a focus in black male educational and leadership development, both from Louisiana State University.
Terri Knox, School Operations Manager
Terri serves as the School Operations Manager for the KIPP Vision Campus. Her teaching career includes teaching music to all ages. She has also worked at KIPP South Fulton Academy as the Theatre teacher. She has earned a BS in Music Performance/Education from Florida A&M University located in Tallahassee, FL. Terri was also a member of the world renowned FAMU Marching “100”.
Latisha Lanham, Special Education Paraprofessional
Latisha serves as the Special Education Paraprofessional at KIPP Vision Academy. Previously she was a volunteer for Hands On Atlanta, Aids Walk of Atlanta, and KIPP Vision Academy. She attended Clayton State University for her Associate of Business and is currently a pre-med student at Kennesaw State University.
Iris Lattimore, SST Coordinator
Iris serves as the SST Coordinator at KIPP Vision Academy. She began her teaching career through the Nashville Teaching Fellows Program and has previously taught fourth grade. Iris earned a B.A. in public policy and communication studies from the University of North Carolina as well as an MAT from Belmont University.
Jenee’ Lee, Fifth Grade Writing Teacher
Jenee’ serves as the Fifth Grade Writing teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Her teaching career began in Philadelphia with sixth grade students as an ILA and Science Teacher for five years. She has also worked with alternative high school students in Postsecondary Access and Success. Jenee’ received a BA in Elementary Education from Gwynedd Mercy University.
Lewis E. Logan III, Seventh Grade Social Studies Teacher
Lewis is the Seventh Grade Social Studies teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Previously, he served as the Ivy Bound Connection teacher for Ivy Preparatory Academy for Girls, as well as the Prep Leadership Connection teacher for Ivy Preparatory Young Men's Leadership Academy at Kirkwood. He then served as a fifth-grade teacher at CICS Wrightwood Academy in Chicago before joining the KIPP family. Lewis has a BA in History from Morehouse College.
Brandon Martin, Sixth Grade Science Teacher
Brandon serves as the Sixth Grade Science teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Brandon previously worked as a kindergarten student-teacher at Alps Road Elementary School in Athens, Georgia. Brandon received a BBA in Marketing from the University of Georgia.
Delise May, Fifth Grade Math Teacher
Delise serves as the Fifth Grade Math teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Before joining the KIPP team, she served for two years as the third grade team leader and math teacher at Hope-Hill Elementary in Atlanta Public Schools. She has a BA in Elementary Education from Furman University and an EdS in School Psychology from the University of Central Florida.
Keosha Moon, Campus Director of Operations
Keosha serves as the Campus Director of Operations for KIPP Vision. Previously, she served as the Director of Marketing, Planning and Operations for Emory University’s MBA Career Management Center. She also worked as an Associate Consultant in Bain and Company’s Atlanta office. She has a BBA in Finance from Howard University and a MBA in Finance and Marketing from Emory University.
Stephanie Murray, Seventh Grade Reading/English Language Arts Teacher
Stephanie serves as the Seventh Grade Reading/English Language Arts teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Before joining the KIPP team, she taught high school English and Reading Enrichment at Greensboro High School in Greensboro, AL, as a Teach For America – Alabama corps member. Stephanie has a BA in Psychology from Spelman College.
Miaisha Nunnally, Sixth Grade Math Teacher
Miaisha serves as the Sixth Grade Math teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. She is an alumna of Teach For America, in which she taught 8th grade Math for Gwinnett County Schoosl. Miaisha has a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Specialization in Accounting from The Ohio State University.
Kristal Peterson, Special Education Coordinator
Kristal serves as the Special Education Coordinator at KIPP Vision Academy. Throughout her nine years of teaching, she has worked with Cobb County Schools, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Explore Charter School in Brooklyn, New York. Kristal received her BA in elementary and special education from the University of Iowa and an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia.
Seretha Ramsey, Cafeteria Manager/Bus Monitor
Seretha serves as the Cafeteria Manager and Bus Monitor for the KIPP Vision Campus. She previously has worked as a receptionist, medical records clerk typist two, dispatch operator and in marketing and sales. She moved to Atlanta and attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. She graduated with honors receiving her Associates of Science.
Tommy Robinson, Front Office Coordinator
Tommy serves as the Front Office Coordinator for the KIPP Vision Campus. Previously, he served as Program Enrichment Coordinator for The Study Hall Inc., a non-profit educational program located in the greater Atlanta Peoplestown community. Tommy attended Morris Brown College and one year later transferred to Caver Bible College where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies/Christian Education with a concentration in Christian Leadership. He is presently the Pastor of New Hampton Baptist Church of Atlanta.
Sonia Simpson, Seventh Grade Science Teacher
Sonia serves as the Seventh Grade Science teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Previously, she served as a founding member of the KIPP Vision Academy Advisory Council. Sonia has several years of experience teaching middle grades sciences as well as designing and administering science enrichment programs. She has a BA in Child Development from Spelman College and an MA in Science Curriculum from Clark Atlanta University.
Brittany Stoudemire, Sixth Grade Math Teacher
Brittany serves as a Sixth Grade Math teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. As a 2012 Teach For America – New York corps member, she taught middle school math for two years in New York City Public Schools. Most recently, she taught sixth grade math at a charter school in Brooklyn. Brittany has a BA in English and Educational Studies from Emory University and a MEd from Brooklyn College.
Alison Stokes, Lower School Assistant Principal
Alison serves as the Lower School Assistant Principal at KIPP Vision Academy. She has nine years of teaching experience in multiple grade levels. She received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education at Auburn University and her Master’s degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Urban Education at San Diego State University.
Lance Templeton, Eight Grade Teacher
Lance serves as an Eighth Grade teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Most recently, he was the Fifth Grade Math teacher at KIPP WAYS Academy. He previously worked as an elementary school reading facilitator in Atlanta Public Schools. Lance made the decision to pursue a career in education after serving as a math tutor to middle and high school students in Metro Atlanta. He has a B.A. in History from Morehouse College.
Falana Thomas, School Counselor
Falana serves as the School Counselor at KIPP Vision Academy. She has a BS in Social Science from Portland State University and a MEd in Counseling from the University of La Verne.
Amanda Timpson, Learning Specialist
Amanda serves as a Learning Specialist at KIPP Vision Academy. Prior to this, Amanda was a Social Studies teacher at L.J. Price Middle School and Forest Hills Academy, both in Atlanta Public Schools. She received her BA in Sociology and African Studies at Georgia State University, a MS in Human Behavior from California State University, and a Specialist in Community Interventions from Capella University.
Cedric Towns, Fine Arts /Physical Education Teacher
Cedric serves as the Fine Arts and Physical Education teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Before joining the KIPP team, he served for two years as the Assistant Dean of Student Government and Vice President of the Elections Commission at Eastern Michigan University. He has a B.A. in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Eastern Michigan University
Russell Williams, Math Teacher
Russell serves as a Math teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. He got his start in education as a Seventh Grade Math Teacher Fellow at KIPP WAYS Academy. Russell formerly served as Coordinator for the College Reach-Out Program, as well as the Director for the College of Social Work, Arts & Athletics, both at Florida State University. He has a BA in Sociology, as well as a Master's in Education Policy Planning and Analysis from Florida State University.
Christan Williams-Wilson, Sixth Grade Reading/Language Arts Teacher
Christan serves as the Sixth Grade Reading/Language Arts teacher at KIPP Vision Academy. Before joining KIPP, she taught the second, third, and sixth grades in Spartanburg, SC. She has a BA in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Literacy Education from Furman University.
