Katherine Beck, Response to Intervention (RtI) Program Coordinator
Katherine is the RtI Program Coordinator working to support students with academic and behavioral interventions in the classroom setting.  Katherine’s career in education began when she joined Teach For America as a classroom teacher at KIPP DREAM College Prep in Houston, TX.  A proud Blue Devil, she received her BA in International Comparative Studies with a focus on Latin America from Duke University in Durham, NC.

Monica Blouin, Learning Specialist Teacher
Monica is the Learning Specialist. Prior to joining KIPP Vision, Monica spent 4 years at KIPP WAYS Academy. There she taught 5th grade math for one year and later became the 5th/6th grade learning specialist for 3 years. After relocating to Atlanta, Mrs. Blouin completed her graduate work at Troy University, where she received her Master's Degree.

Jamila Bowser, 6th Grade Science Teacher
Jamila is the 6th Grade Science Teacher. Jamila has spent the last five years of her career teaching a pre-college science and math elective at a middle school in Durham, NC. Jamila received her BA in Biology Education and Chemistry from Shaw University. She then earned her MS in Clinical research at Campbell University.

Wheda Carletos, Dean
Wheda serves as the Dean, responsible for supervising, supporting and mentoring teachers to improve instruction.  She previously served as the Curriculum Specialist for the KIPP Metro Atlanta region.  She entered the teaching profession in 2003 through the University System of Georgia’s Atlanta PLUS program and was awarded the honor of Teacher of the Year in just her first year of teaching. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgia State University, a Masters in Public Health from Emory University, and is currently working on her Doctorate in Educational leadership at Mercer University.

Brandy Cooks, 6th Grade Reading Teacher
Brandy serves as the 6th Grade Reading Teacher.  She previously taught in New York City and was a 2004 TFA corps member.  She has a BA from Brown University and a MST from Pace University.

Tarik Davis, 5th Grade Social Studies Teacher
Tarik serves as the 5th grade Social Studies Teacher.  He joined KIPP Vision Academy as an Educational Assistant in its founding year.  Tarik has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades for five years prior to teaching at KIPP Vision Academy. Tarik received his B.S. from Devry University and is in the process of completing his MAT at Mercer University.

Kwadwo Gyasi, 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher
Kwadwo serves as the 6th grade Social Studies Teacher. As a founding staff member, he previously served as the 5th grade social studies teacher. He is a former TFA corps member and business owner who coordinated KIPP WAYS' historic journey to Ghana, West Africa in 2007.  He has a BA from Morehouse College and an MA from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. 

Steve Jones, Principal
Steven is the founding Principal.  Previously he was a Fisher Fellow within the KIPP National leadership development program.  He spent a year visiting some of the highest performing KIPP middle schools in the country in order to learn best practices.  Before the Fisher Fellowship, Mr. Jones served as a Dean of KIPP WAYS Academy.  Mr. Jones has been with KIPP for seven years and has been an educator in Atlanta for 15 years.  Steve is a graduate of the University of Georgia, Mercer University and is currently completing an Education Leadership degree from National Louis University.

Travonnie Mackey, 5th Grade Math Teacher
Travonnie is the 5th Grade Math Teacher. Through tutoring in low-income communities and her own experiences in different schools, Travonnie became very aware of the achievement gap. Determined to do her part to close it, she joined Teach for America upon graduation. Before arriving at KIPP Vision, she taught 5th grade math and science at Hapeville Elementary School in South Fulton County. Travonnie is a graduate of Howard University. 

Patrice Meadows, 5th Grade Science Teacher
Patrice is the 5th Grade Science Teacher. After completing her commitment in Teach for America, she continued to teach high school science in Atlanta Public Schools. She has a BS in Biology from North Carolina State University and a MAT in Secondary Science from Georgia State University.

Ebonique Miller, 5th Grade Language Arts Teacher
Ebonique is the 5th Grade Language Arts Teacher.  She has worked with KIPP Metro Atlanta for five years serving in the following positions at KIPP WAYS Academy: 7th grade educational assistant, grade level chair, and 7th grade English teacher. Ebonique received her Bachelor's Degree from Pacific Oaks College and is currently working on a Master's at Mercer University. 

Keosha Moon, Business Operations Manager
Keosha is the Business Operations Manager. Previously, she served as the Director of Marketing, Planning and Operations for Emory University’s MBA Career Management Center. She also worked as an Associate Consultant in Bain and Company’s Atlanta office. She has a BBA in Finance from Howard University and a MBA in Finance and Marketing from Emory University, Goizueta Business School.

Aisha Nesbitt, 5th Grade Reading Teacher
Aisha serves as the 5th grade Reading Teacher. She previously taught 4th and 5th grades for six years in Clayton County Public Schools at Haynie Elementary School. Ms. Nesbitt has a BS in Elementary Education from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a MEd from the University of Georgia in Early Childhood Education.

Danielle Robinson, 6th Grade Math Teacher
Mama D. serves as the 6th Grade Math Teacher. She has ten years of highly successful teaching experience, teaching grades first through tenth. She previously served as the High School Math Department Chair for Dusable High School of Betty Shabazz International Charter School in Chicago, Illinois. She earned a BA from The Ohio State University as well as a Masters Degree in Public/Business Administration.

Yolanda Smith, 6th Grade Language Arts Teacher
Yolanda serves as the 6th Grade English Language Arts Teacher. Previously, she taught eighth grade English for several years at KIPP WAYS Academy. In addition, Ms. Smith taught high school ESE & Gifted and Talented in Orlando, FL. She has a Gifted Endorsement K-12, a BA from the University of Central Florida and an MA from The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC).
