School Uniform Changes for the 2015-16 School Year

In our efforts to minimize unnecessary clothing competition, maintain an elevated standard of personal appearance, exemplify a dignified school climate, and foster school pride and unity, we are updating our school uniforms.  This year, school uniforms will be based on grade level: Lower School (5th-6th grade) and Upper School (7th and 8th grade).

Lower School Uniform Standards

Lower School scholars will be expected to wear khaki bottoms, a black or brown belt, KWA polos, KWA V-neck Cardigan, and conservative single-colored tennis shoes Monday-Friday (tennis shoes with bright multiple colors are not permitted).  Tennis shoes should be white, navy blue, black or brown and free of writing and other designs. On Fridays, Lower School scholars are allowed to wear a KWA polo or KWA t-shirt, khaki bottoms and tennis shoes. This year, Lower School scholars will receive one KWA polo and one KWA t-shirt provided by the school.

Upper School Uniform Standards

Upper School scholars will be expected to wear collegiate uniforms Monday-Thursday. The collegiate uniform is comprised of khaki bottoms, a black or brown belt, blue KWA Oxford button down shirts, KWA V-neck Cardigan, and soft-soled black, brown or navy blue dress shoes.  As the senior level scholars on campus, only eighth grade students will be permitted to wear the Varsity 5-Button Cardigan. All Upper School male scholars will be expected to wear KWA ties Monday-Thursday (scholars will have grade specific ties).

All Upper School female scholars choosing to wear hair accessories will be expected to wear solid blue headbands, hair bows, ribbons or KWA branded hair accessories.  On Fridays, Upper School scholars are allowed to wear a KWA polo or KWA t-shirt, khaki bottoms and tennis shoes.  Tennis shoes should be conservative single-colored tennis shoes (tennis shoes with bright multiple colors are not permitted).  Tennis shoes should be white, navy blue, black or brown and free of writing and other designs. This year, Upper School scholars will receive one-blue KWA Oxford button down shirt and one KWA school t-shirt provided.

Outerwear Standards for Lower and Upper School

Scholars will not be permitted to wear hoodies, sweaters, jackets, coats or any other outerwear inside the building. KWA branded outerwear (i.e. KWA hoodies, KWA theater sweaters, KWA dance hoodies, and KWA band jackets) will only be permitted on Friday.

Purchasing Uniforms

All prescribed articles of uniform clothing (except uniform bottoms) must be purchased from our approved vendor, Brand Evolution.  Uniforms can be viewed and purchased online by visiting www.shopkwa.com or by phone at (678) 541-5568.  Parents may contact Brand Evolution via email at info@benextpromo.com.

The KWA school uniform is not negotiable and may not be manipulated to accommodate personal style or interest.  Absolute compliance with the school uniform is expected.  The uniform policy is not subjective or open to interpretation. Both Lower School and Upper School scholars are expected to wear the required uniform every day, unless otherwise indicated.
