KIPP TO COLLEGE   : KIPP To College : Alumni Program : Contact KIPP To College : Alumni Events : Support KIPP To College         KIPP Through College           Overview     A comprehensive advocacy and support program for KIPP Metro Atlanta alumni, KIPP Through College (“KTC”) provides alumni with high school placement support, academic and personal support, internship opportunities, career services, college preparation assistance and social and cultural enrichment activities. The KTC program is committed to providing alumni with the support they need to ensure that they stay on track during their high school years and ultimately gain acceptance to and graduate from college.           High School Placement     The KIPP Metro Atlanta KTC program begins by assisting KIPP students and their families with the high school placement process. An essential component of the KIPP Metro Atlanta High School Placement (“HSP”) program is our commitment to assisting our students in identifying the high school that best fits their individual strengths and interests. In this way, we help to ensure that KIPP Metro Atlanta alumni are well placed to succeed in high school, college and beyond. KTC Metro Atlanta HSP coordinators work closely with both 7th and 8th grade parents and students to educate them about their high school options and assist them during the high school application and admission process. HSP coordinators conduct parent workshops, host boarding school, independent day school and magnet and charter school panels, and hold individual meetings with all 8th grade parents. HSP coordinators also teach a HSP course for 7th grade students during the spring semester and for 8th grade students during the fall. While enrolled in these courses, students are able to explore their own challenges, interests and strengths as well as gain valuable information regarding the various types of high schools, their admissions processes and entrance criteria. Thanks to the hard work of our students, parents and HSP staff, KIPP Metro Atlanta alumni attend some of the strongest magnet schools, charter schools and independent day and boarding schools in the U.S.
