Courtney Bell, Director of Human Resources
Courtney serves as the Director of Human Resources with KIPP Metro Atlanta. She previously served as the Senior Operations Manager with Ameriprise Financial and the Director of Human Resources with Laurel Baye Healthcare. She has more than ten years of experience in human resources, operations, field real estate, and financial management. She is a member and Secretary of the Program Advisory Council at Westwood College. She has a BS from Georgia State University and an MBA from Shorter University. She completed the Human Resources Management Program at Kennesaw State University and received her Professional in Human Resources Certificate (PHR).
Nykia Blue, Controller
Nykia serves as the Controller. Previously, she served as the Director of Finance at New Orleans College Prep Charter School in New Orleans, LA, where she was a founding member. Her accounting and finance career spans more than ten years. Nykia received an Associate of Applied Business degree in Accounting Technology from Brown Mackie College and a BA in Accounting from Dillard University.
LeAllison Boatright, Human Resources Generalist
LeAllison serves as the Human Resources Generalist. Previously, she served as the Recruitment Associate for KIPP Metro Atlanta. She began her career in banking and has over five years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining KIPP Metro Atlanta, she served as the New Business Processor for Ashford Advisors in Atlanta, GA. LeAllison earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Arkansas.
Bryan Brownlow, Director of Facilities and Transportation
Bryan serves as the Director of Facilities and Transportation. Prior to becoming the Director of Facilities for KIPP Metro Atlanta, he was a Project Manager for Parker and Company. Previous clients have included CVS/Pharmacy, Coca-Cola, Cisco Systems, and KIPP WAYS Academy. He is a Desert Storm veteran and has managed construction projects in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman and Jordan. In 2006 he obtained his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through the Project Management Institute.
Benjamin Cabeza, Manager of Data Strategy
Benjamin is the Manager of Data Strategy. He previously served as the Data Specialist at LEAD Public Schools in Nashville, TN and taught middle school math in Charlotte, NC as a part of Teach For America. He has an ABJ in Public Relations and BA in Speech Communications from the University of Georgia as well as an MPP in Education Policy from Vanderbilt's Peabody College of Education.
Ramous Fields, Director of Technology
Ramous serves as the Director of Technology. He has been working in the computer and telecommunications field for over twenty years. During this time, he has held a number of leadership positions in the Academic and Healthcare sectors working as a network engineer, NOC Manager, Director of Network Communications and Technical Services, and a consultant. He holds an undergraduate degree in Technology Management and Electronics Technology from Clayton State University.
Kelly Gunn, Director of the Teacher Fellows Program
Kelly serves as the Director of the Teacher Fellows Program. Kelly began her career in education as a middle grades teacher in the Dallas Independent School District. She holds a BA from Tennessee State University, a Master’s in Education Administration and EdS in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University, and a doctorate in Urban Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati.
Amy Hollrah, Institutional Giving Manager
Amy serves as the Institutional Giving Manager. Previously, she served as the Interim Communications Manager for Simon Youth Foundation. Amy has also worked as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator for Endangered Species Chocolate. She has a BFA in Visual Communications from Indiana University, Herron School of Art and Design.
Stan Ingber, Director of School Nutrition
Stan serves as the Director of School Nutrition. Stan Ingber comes to KIPP Metro Atlanta with more than twenty-five years of single, multi-unit and central kitchen food operations experience, primarily focused on school food and nutrition services. For more than ten years he was the Director of Purchasing and Support Services for a local food service management company serving fifty K-12 school districts in Missouri. Stan was Director of Food Services for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, Inc., and was Senior Director of Operations for Open Hand in Atlanta.
Veronica King, Operations Associate
Veronica is the Operations Associate. As a member of the Teach for America Atlanta 2002 corps, she taught 6th-8th grade Gifted Social Studies at Harper-Archer Middle School. Most recently she worked as a Business Operations Specialist in McMaster-Carr’s Atlanta office. She has a BA in Hispanic Studies from Columbia University.
Shyam Kumar, Director of Talent Strategy
Shyam is the Director of Talent and Data Strategy. Previously, Shyam worked with Teach For America in various administrative capacities. He also worked with General Electric, completing their management leadership program and serving as a Six Sigma Blackbelt. Shyam has a BS in Information Systems from Case Western University.
Cynthia Lazard, Accounting Manager
Cynthia is the Accounting Manager. She previously served as an Accounting and Payroll Specialist at Eagle Hospital Physicians. She served as an Accounting Assistant and Cives Corporation. She has a degree in Business Management from Kennesaw State University.
Judy Lin, Chief Operating Officer
Judy serves as the Chief Operating Officer. She most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Beau-coup Favors, Inc. a leading online retailer in the wedding and special events industries. She previously held the position of Director of Corporate Business Development and Strategy at Warner Bros. Prior to Warner Bros., Judy served as Director of Strategic Planning at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. here in Atlanta, working with Turner's cable networks (CNN, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, TMC). Judy holds and a BA from Northwestern University in Economics and Asian Studies and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Kerry McArdle, Managing Director External Relations
Kerry is the Managing Director of External Relations, including development, communications, and community relations. Kerry previously worked as Director of Leadership Development at Gwinnett County Public Schools through the Broad Residency in Urban Education. She has also worked in strategic and analytical positions at Coca-Cola Enterprises and Delta Air Lines, and as a volunteer in the US Peace Corps. She has a BA in English from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
Katie Mock, Individual Giving Manager
Katie is the Individual Giving Manager. Previously, she served as the Associate of Individual Giving at Teach For America – Metro Atlanta. Prior to that, Katie was a 2009 Teach For America – Mississippi Delta corps member, where she taught 7th and 8th grade English/Language Arts in Eastern Arkansas. Katie received a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication and Political Science from the University of North Carolina.
Angela Page, Director of Talent
Angela serves as the Director of Talent. Angela began teaching when she moved to New Orleans to become a teachNOLA Fellow. She went on to teach Kindergarten at KIPP McDonough 15 and 2nd grade at New Orleans College Prep Charter School. She remained actively involved with teachNOLA by helping recruit and select candidates to join the program. Angela earned a dual BA in Government and Criminology from the University of Maryland.
Kinnari Patel-Smyth, Executive Director
Kinnari serves as the Executive Director. Prior to KIPP, Kinnari joined New Leaders for New Schools in 2005 and served as a principal for several years before becoming the Managing Director of Program for Explore Schools in Brooklyn, New York. Kinnari began her career as a teacher in Fort Worth and Atlanta. She has a BS in Elementary Education from Salisbury State University and a Master’s in School Administration from Pace University.
Katie Rigby, Managing Director of Academics
Katie serves as the Director of Academics. She began her career in education teaching with the Teach for America program in North Carolina for two years before moving back to Atlanta to teach 5th and 6th grade science at KIPP WAYS Academy. Katie has a degree in Communication and Religion from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and a Master's in Education Policy and Management from Harvard's Graduate School of Education.
Melissa Williams, Director of Teacher Effectiveness
Melissa is the Director of Teacher Effectiveness. She served as the Site Director of Teacher Quality and the Memphis Teaching Fellows at TNTP. She was the Director of Research, Assessment, and Accountability in Orangeburg County Consolidated School District 3, was an administrator in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and is a Charlotte Teach for America Alumni. She has a BA in Sociology from the University of South Carolina-Upstate and a Master's in Curriculum and Instructional Leadership from the University of Memphis.
Keya Wondwossen, Talent Recruiter
Keya serves as a Talent Recruiter. Prior to joining KIPP, Keya was a 2010 Teach for America Metro Atlanta corps member. She taught Elementary English as a Second Language (ESL) to students of all grade levels for three years at her placement school in Morrow, Georgia. Keya earned a BA in International Affairs from the University of Georgia.
Troy Wright, Director of Finance
Troy is the Director of Finance. Troy started his career as an internal auditor with International Paper in Memphis, TN. After graduating with his MBA in 2006, he joined Harrah's Entertainment in Atlantic City, NJ. Troy was in the President's Associate program, where he supported four casinos in a planning and analysis role. Later he became a revenue manager. Troy has BA in Business Administration from Morehouse College and an MBA from Emory University.
