Core academic courses are supplemented by the school’s Fine Arts, Advisory and Physical Education classes.
During Advisory classes, scholars learn to develop their character skills, leadership skills, decision-making skills, and scholarly habits that are necessary for success.
The Fine Arts Department develops the individual musical, dance, visual arts and theatrical talents of scholars in a collaborative and team-oriented approach, while providing an education that encourages creative learning and excellence in the arts. The KIPP WAYS Academy Fine Arts Department consists of band, theater, visual arts and dance for all scholars.
The Physical Education program is to teach skills, knowledge, sportsmanship, and safety through an exposure to a wide variety of sports and recreational activities.
KIPP WAYS Academy participates in the Atlanta Public School 14 and under competitive sports league. We offer the following sports for grades 6-8:

Field lessons are designed to complement instruction that occurs in the classroom and are offered at least once per semester to scholars who “earn” the trip and are eligible through the school’s incentive program. At the end of the school year, scholars who have consistently demonstrated the school’s “WAYS to Success” throughout the year are invited to participate in the grade level End of Year field trip, which are typically out of state. In the past scholars have visited New Orleans, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C.
KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is a network of free public charter schools serving students in the communities of West Atlanta, Southeast Atlanta, and East Point.
