KIPP Metro Atlanta Overview

KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is a network of ten public charter schools and one partnership school located in the city of Atlanta and East Point. At KIPP, we believe that every student deserves a joyful and excellent education and opportunities that will lead them towards a fulfilling life. Since founding our first middle schools in 2003, KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools has been united around one goal: supporting our students in developing their academic abilities and ultimately proving what is possible in public education.

Our Approach & Impact

The KIPP Difference

EQUIPPING STUDENTS FOR SUCCESS

At KIPP, we believe that a strong partnership between students, parents and educators creates the fabric of an excellent school. Through innovative educational practices and dedication, we believe in the power of education to enable our students to change the world.

  • High Expectations

Clearly defined and measurable high expectations for academic achievement ensures that teachers and students focus on proving what is possible when every student reaches their individual potential. By creating engaging lessons with opportunities for individual and small group support, we strive to differentiate our instruction to provide every student a pathway to success.

  • KIPP Forward

    College Matriculation

Starting in high school, our college counselors support students as they design their college wishlists, apply to school, and select the best match based on their purpose, passion, and plan. Post high school graduation, we help KIPP alumni navigate the social, academic, and financial challenges they might encounter while in college.

  • Joyful & Safe Environments

Physical and emotional safety is needed for students to take risks and learn from their successes and their mistakes. Our schools provide a joyful, safe, and nurturing environment so our students love school and maximize their learning.

  • Highly Skilled Teachers and Leaders

Excellent schools require excellent teachers and school leaders. We recruit the best talent for our students, empower our school teams, and invest in leadership and training rather than in bureaucracy.

  • Commitment to Equity

Our schools exist in a society where structural racism negatively impacts our students and their families on a daily basis. We are committed to building a more just world, in partnership with our students and the Atlanta community, by actively engaging in anti-racist work.

Our Results

KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is continuing to prove that effective teaching, college-preparatory academics, and joyful and nurturing school environments can help all students reach their fullest potential.
